Fiat Bravo 1.6 Multijet 16v: ecology and power.

There is something new in the air: it’s the Fiat Bravo’s 1.6 Multijet 16v engine, the latest generation turbodiesel, for those looking for the perfect compromise between respect for the environment and low running costs, without sacrificing power and driving pleasure.

With this Euro 5-ready engine, the Fiat Bravo confirms Fiat’s commitment to safeguarding the environment, and is the first car in its category to offer engines that already comply with future Euro 5 limits on emissions, while also boasting the lowest emissions of HCNOx (unburnt hydrocarbons, nitrogen monoxide and nitric oxide).

Available in 105 bhp and 120 bhp versions, this engine completes the range of power units produced by FPT – Fiat Powertrain Technologies – the Fiat Group division that employs around 3000 highly specialised engineers in the development and design of innovative technologies.

This engine perfectly combines the qualities of Multijet turbodiesel technology with the philosophy of downsizing, according to which, the use of a new generation turbocharger together with a smaller engine results in performance levels that are better than those for larger engines, but with lower fuel consumption and emissions.

The 1.6 is a 16-valve, 4-cylinder in line engine, with electronic Common Rail Multijet direct injection, intercooler and variable geometry turbocharger for the 120 bhp version (the turbocharger has a fixed geometry on the 105 bhp version).

It is a clean, environmentally-friendly engine, with CO2 levels of 129 g/km, meaning that it qualifies for state incentives when purchased in exchange for an older model. Innovation and technology with respect for the environment are the hallmarks of the 1.6 Multijet 120 bhp, which is already Euro 5-ready with a DPF (diesel particulate filter) as standard.

The Fiat Bravo, in addition to being beautiful, comfortable, practical and technological, is now even more environmentally friendly, powerful, safe and value for money. The entire range now comes with the ESP stability control system, 5-year warranty and 5-year interest-free credit as standard.

More good reasons why the Fiat Bravo is the best-selling compact 5-door in Italy.
